In total, 11 German universities appear in the Global University Employability Ranking 2017, designed by HR consultancy Emerging and published exclusively by Times Higher Education. The ranking reveals which universities recruiters at top companies think are the best at preparing students for the workplace.
The Technical University of Munich is Germany’s best university for employability. Only one of the top five universities are in Berlin, with the top two in Munich and the others located in Heidelberg and Frankfurt.

Germany’s top university for employability refers to itself as ‘the entrepreneurial university’ due to its emphasis on and close relationships with industry.
Many academics also have positions in companies like BMW and Siemens, and students undertake research projects with employers in the area.
Across 14 different departments there are 172 degree programmes on offer. Each year scientists from the university create more than 100 inventions with industrial and commercial applications.
2. LMU Munich
LMU Munich is the sixth oldest university in Germany which has been continously operating and is the second-largest university in terms of student population.
The university is made up of 18 faculties including law, economics, medicine and social sciences among others.
The university attracts a high percentage of exchange and international students. There are many resources in the city that students can take advantage of such as the Max Planck Society and many global enterprises and start ups.
Goethe University Frankfurt is affiliated with 18 Nobel Prize winners including physicists Max von Laue and Max Born.
The university is based across four separate campuses, with each one dedicated to several specific subjects. There are 16 faculties in total.
The location of the university in Frankfurt as a leading financial centre of Europe, offers many opportunities for students as well as contributing to the city's global partnerships.
