Reporting directly to the Pro Vice-Chancellor, College of Engineering, Science and Environment, the University is seeking a Dean and Head of School to lead the newly formed School of Computer and Information Sciences. The Dean and Head of School is a member of the College Executive team and is responsible for delivering on the priority areas of the University and College Strategic Plan, and for providing a clear vision and effective leadership for the School. This includes championing industry engagement and research translation as well as enhance student experience to help achieve University ambitions. The new School of Computer and Information Sciences coalesces expertise in computing, information technology, data science and statistics, and applied mathematics, primed to deliver life ready graduates and a transformative and sustainable education which aligns to the evolution of science and technology. The School will deliver exciting new degree and postgraduate programs which reflect industry need and best practice. The Dean will engage with stakeholders across and external to the College and University to position the School as a major driver of quality education and research, delivering innovation and impact in areas of global significance. Growth in local and global partnerships will be important, supporting the College and University’s efforts in strategic engagement with high quality international partners in education and research. As Dean and Head of School, you will work closely with the leadership group of the School, College and colleagues across the University to deliver on strategic objectives, while fostering a culture of collaboration, inclusivity and innovation. As Singapore’s University for Industry, SIT works closely with industry partners in our research pursuits. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT. The primary responsibility of this position is to deliver on a research project to develop an End-to-end misinformation and disinformation protection, awareness and mitigation pipeline. We will be recruiting a research engineers or fellows, as part of a wider project, to conduct research on: LLM/VLM, media comparison, AI-assisted explainability. The need is for a real-time system, so efficient coding is important. Key Responsibilities: Participate in and manage the research project with Principal Investigator (PI) Ian McLoughlin, Co-PI Tong Rong and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met.  Undertake research within your domain, including keeping track of state-of-the-art work. Develop the code, evaluate and test. Write academic publications. Deliver solution-ready demonstration code. Interact well within the team and the customers. Be self-directed to fulfil the project requirements. Job Requirements: Competence in working with languages such as C along with Python-based coding and AI development. Have a degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering. Possessing a Master’s or PhD degree will definitely be advantageous. Knowledge of machine learning, pytorch, huggingface etc... Knowledge of image processing is required. Ability to effectively and efficiently utilise industry-standard Linux-based computers for AI. Experience of authoring good quality academic publications. Manage undergraduate research assistants (if appropriate). Liaise with customers and collaborators in A*STAR and NTU, as well as collaborators in the UK and China. Job Description LANGUAGE CENTRE  Teaching Assistant (English Section) (25260123) The appointee is expected to assist the English Section in: (i) developing supplementary teaching and learning materials; (ii) providing support to new and existing English language enhancement activities; (iii) assisting lecturers in teaching; and (iv) performing other duties as assigned by the Head of the English Section and the Head of the Language Centre. Applicants should possess a bachelor’s degree in Applied Linguistics/Linguistics, English, TESOL or Language Studies and a master’s degree in a related discipline with native/native-like proficiency in English. Experience in designing English language learning materials, organising language enhancement activities and analysing activity or course results and outcomes are required. The initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of one to two years commencing September 2025. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to performance review, mutual agreement and availability of funding.
