Faculty Opportunities in Psychology Department of Cognitive Sciences United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) – Al Ain, UAE The Department of Cognitive Sciences at the United Arab Emirates University invites applications for four faculty positions in Psychology at the Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Full Professor levels, beginning Fall 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter. We welcome applications across all areas of Psychology. Candidates with expertise in Clinical Psychology, Developmental Psychology, or Cross-Cultural Psychology are particularly encouraged to apply. UAEU is a dynamic and research-active institution located in Al Ain (Emirate of Abu Dhabi), approximately 90 minutes from Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The University offers a diverse, multicultural academic environment with strong institutional support and excellent research facilities. Position Overview Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor Faculty appointed at professorial ranks are expected to demonstrate: A strong research profile and established publication record in Scopus-indexed journals An independent and impactful research programme Ability to attract competitive external funding Active supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate research High-quality teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate courses Contribution to departmental leadership, curriculum development, and institutional service Engagement in professional and community outreach Instructor The Instructor role is teaching-focused and includes: Delivering high-quality instruction in foundational undergraduate psychology courses Developing course materials, assessments, and examinations aligned with best practices Academic advising and mentoring of undergraduate students Participation in curriculum review and programme improvement Effective use of instructional technologies (LMS, blended learning, hybrid teaching) Contribution to departmental and university service activities Required Qualifications For Professor/Associate/Assistant Professor: Bachelor’s and Doctoral degrees in Psychology from internationally reputable universities Demonstrated research excellence commensurate with rank Native or near-native fluency in English (language of instruction) For Instructor: Bachelors and Master’s degrees in Psychology Demonstrated university-level teaching experience at undergraduate level Strong English communication skills Familiarity with instructional technologies Preferred Qualifications Professional development in higher education teaching and learning Clinical training and experience in evidence-based interventions (e.g., CBT) Licensure (or eligibility) where applicable Experience in supervision or cross-cultural practice What We Offer UAEU offers a competitive and comprehensive benefits package, including: Tax-free salary; Free housing; Medical insurance; Annual return airfare for expatriate employees and immediate family; Relocation allowance; Education subsidy for children Application Details Start date: Fall 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter Application deadline: February 28, 2026 All applications must be submitted in English via: https://jobs.uaeu.ac.ae/ For informal inquiries, please contact: Dr. Ian Grey ian.grey@uaeu.ac.ae
