Working, teaching and research at VinUniversity

Information about VinUniversity for Academics

VinUniversity offers a rare opportunity for academics and researchers who want to do meaningful work in one of Asia's most exciting higher education environments. As a young institution with world-class ambitions, VinUni actively seeks faculty who are not just accomplished in their fields, but genuinely motivated to build something that lasts.

VinUni500 initiative
As part of its bold phase-two strategy to become a top-100 university by 2030, VinUni has launched the "VinUni500" programme - a flagship initiative to recruit 500 outstanding global scholars, backed by Vingroup's investment of 9,300 billion VND. The programme targets four distinct cohorts: 10 high-calibre academic leaders, 200 research-focused faculty, 200 outstanding early-career researchers, and 100 affiliated faculty. VinUni 500 also serves as a bridge connecting Vietnamese scholars with international researchers and world-class scientists, opening pathways for cross-border and high-impact collaboration.

A research environment with real momentum
VinUni's research output is growing fast and the infrastructure behind it is built to scale. With dedicated lab and office space, grant application support, and direct access to Vingroup's innovation ecosystem, faculty have the conditions to pursue high-impact, internationally recognised research without the resource constraints common at institutions of comparable age.

Students who are worth your investment
VinUni attracts some of Vietnam's most competitive students, selected through a rigorous admissions process that prioritises academic potential and intellectual curiosity. Class sizes are intentionally small, giving faculty the time and institutional support to mentor meaningfully and see that investment pay off. Many VinUni students co-author peer-reviewed publications before they graduate.

An institution that moves quickly
In just five years of operation, VinUni has achieved full FIBAA Institutional Accreditation, ACGME-I recognition for its graduate medical programmes, and ACEN accreditation for its nursing programme. These milestones that reflects an institution with the leadership, resources, and organisational agility to set ambitious targets and deliver on them.

Join VinUniversity to shape Vietnam's future
Faculty at VinUni are recruited from leading universities across the United States, United Kingdom, Europe, and Asia, joining a community of driven, internationally minded scholars working at the frontier of their fields. Hanoi itself - dynamic, affordable, and increasingly well-connected to the global academic circuit - makes for a compelling place to live, research, and build a lasting career.

Smart Pollination Management to Improve Fruit Production in Vietnam
VinUniversity is advancing smart agriculture through the VietFruitRise project, funded by the Aus4Innovation Partnership Grants, the project brings together VinUniversity and The University of Queensland to develop AI-powered tools and sensing technologies for improving pollination in durian and mango orchards in the Mekong Delta. By integrating insect monitoring, predictive analytics, and a bilingual digital advisory platform, the initiative aims to enhance crop yield, quality, and climate resilience, particularly for smallholder farmers. With a strong focus on inclusivity and real-world impact, the project adopts a Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion approach. As VinUni’s first Australian government-funded project, VietFruitRise highlights the university’s growing global partnerships and its commitment to applying interdisciplinary research to address pressing agricultural and environmental challenges.
