Four vibrant campuses 

UQ’s four campuses are located in South East Queensland, known for its safety, liveability and natural beauty. 

Our riverside St Lucia campus in Brisbane features world-class teaching and research facilities, heritage architecture, and onsite student accommodation.  

The Herston and Dutton Park campuses are located in the city’s biomedical precinct, close to major hospitals and research hubs.  

Our Gatton campus is located in an agricultural region near Brisbane, offering hands-on learning in agriscience and veterinary studies, and student accommodation options.

Research and innovation leadership 

More than 2,500 UQ scientists, social scientists and engineers work alongside government and industry on 3,500+ active research projects – from discovery to commercialisation.

Some of our proudest inventions include the Molecular Clamp vaccine technology recently acquired by Sanofi as part of a landmark acquisition, the world’s first cervical cancer vaccine (Gardasil), and Inflazome acquired by Roche in 2020. 

UQ is a key partner to the delivery organisation appointed by the Queensland Government to lead the integrated masterplan for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games main stadium, venue and village precinct.

About This Opportunity  This is a truly crucial role with the potential to make meaningful, longstanding impact on both UQ and community. Reporting directly to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Indigenous Engagement (DVCIE), this leadership position will develop the strategic direction for Indigenous Education, monitor the whole-of-university approach to Indigenous Education, develop strategies to enhance the recruitment of Indigenous students, ensure support and success for our Indigenous students. As a senior leader within the Office of the DVC(IE), you’ll provide strategic leadership and direction for a team of both academic and professional staff. UQ Business School based in the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law (BEL) Full-time (100%), permanent position Base salary will be in the range $168,593.23 - $185,573.62 + 17% Superannuation (Academic Level D) Based at our St Lucia Campus About This Opportunity This is an exciting opportunity for an Associate Professor of Supply Chain Management in International Business with a Ph.D in Supply Chain Management or Operations Management, aligned to the international business field, to consistently demonstrate excellence in research, teaching, and service and engagement. At this level, you will be expected to undertake leadership roles and have a strong record of supervising Higher Degree by Research students successfully to completion as principal supervisor. As the supply chain management area is being developed in the UQ Business School, at the postgraduate level, there is opportunity to shape this field of study. Key responsibilities will include:  Teaching: Develop and deliver courses, engage in curriculum design, coordinate courses, assess students, provide academic counselling, and adhere to university teaching rules. Research: Establish a research program, collaborate on research projects, seek and manage research funding, publish in reputable journals, utilise best practice research methodologies, and participate in project discussions. Supervision and Researcher Development: Supervise students, recruit and manage employees, provide performance feedback and training, resolve conflicts, and ensure correct remuneration and benefits. Citizenship and Service: Develop partnerships, demonstrate leadership through mentoring, engage in internal service roles and committees, perform administrative functions, provide support to colleagues, and uphold university values. Supervision of honours and higher degree students, to successful completion. Evidence of an ability to enhance linkages with the local community, the larger business community and professional associations. High-level communication and inter-personal skills. High personal work ethic to complete tasks in a timely manner. Experience in innovative modes of teaching.
