Matthew Jarron , former curator of St Andrews Preservation Trust Museum, has been app-ointed curator of the University of Dundee 's museum collection.

Mike Lewis has been appointed chair in oral medicine at the University of Wales College of Medicine Dental School.

Daniel Libeskind has been appointed Simpson professor at the University of Edinburgh 's department of architecture.

Anil Kumar , a former higher education researcher for the government, has been appointed director for people, knowledge and communication by the Chemical Industries Association .

Barbara Maher , formerly of the University of East Anglia, has taken up a chair in physical geography at Lancaster University .
