The e-university holding company has appointed: Sir Brian Fender , chief executive of the Higher Education Funding Council for England, chair; Alfred Morris , vice-chancellor of the University of the West of England, treasurer; and Sir Colin Campbell , vice-chancellor of the University of Nottingham, senior member and chair of the audit comm-ittee.
The University of Manchester has appointed: Geoffrey Hope-Terry , of the University of Bradford, director of finance; Duncan McGrouther , of University College London, professor of plastic and reconstructive surgery; and Matthew Ralph , of the University of Bristol, professor of cognitive neuroscience.
John Bull , vice-chancellor of the University of Plymouth , is to retire next year.
Paul Dryden , a former fundraiser for Oxford University, has been appointed head of development at the University of Southampton .
