The University offers a supportive environment for professionals and academic staff to collaborate, grow, and contribute to cutting-edge scholarship and practice.

Community engagement is central to the University’s ethos, whether supporting emerging and established businesses through Live Ideas, promoting the recovery and resilient rebuilding of the Northern Rivers region through the Living Lab, helping high school students advance their leadership and networking skills through Southern Cross Advance, or equipping businesses with advice on incorporating Circular Economy principles into the day-to-day operations via the ReCirculator program. We partner with industry, government, NGOs and other universities to develop solutions to meet local and global challenges alike.

Impactful research is another defining characteristic of the University, most clearly articulated through our Research Impact Clusters which produce transformative research to support the protection of our planet.
