Your opportunity Southern Cross University’s Faculty of Health is seeking a Senior Lecturer in Speech Pathology to deliver high-quality, innovative and learner centred undergraduate education aligned with professional standards and the philosophy and aims of the Bachelor of Speech Pathology. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced academic to provide course-level leadership, teach across the program, and guide curriculum renewal in preparation for future accreditation. This program includes a distinctive Indigenous Health major in Speech Pathology, offering a nationally unique opportunity to contribute to culturally responsive education and graduate outcomes. Working within a small and collegial team, you will play a key role in mentoring early career academics, leading curriculum development, and bring the team along a shared journey of improvement and innovation. This role is well suited to an established Level C academic, or a high-performing Level B ready to step into a Senior Lecturer role. You will make an impact by: Delivering high-quality, engaging teaching across theoretical and clinical speech pathology units Providing course coordination and curriculum leadership, including contributing to program redesign and external accreditation processes Leading and supporting innovative, inclusive, and technology-enhanced learning and teaching practices Mentoring and supporting early career academics within a small, developing team Contributing to research and / or the scholarship of teaching and learning aligned with Faculty priorities What you will bring You’re a collaborative and thoughtful academic leader who values collegiality, mentorship and shared decision-making. You will make an impact by: Delivering high-quality, student-centred teaching in Primary HSIE and Humanities, with a particular emphasis on History, across face to face, blended and online learning environments Teaching into Initial Teacher Education programs, particularly the Bachelor of Education (Primary), with a focus on preparing generalist primary teachers Leading and contributing to innovative curriculum design, implementation and evaluation aligned with the Australian Curriculum, accreditation requirements and University standards Contributing to the Faculty’s research profile through high-quality publications, emerging grant activity and supervision of Honours and HDR students Building and sustaining professional, community and sector partnerships that enhance teaching, research and engagement outcomes What you will bring You are an experienced and collegial academic with a strong commitment to primary teacher education, curriculum excellence and scholarly impact in HSIE and Humanities. You thrive in collaborative environments, bring enthusiasm to teaching and mentoring, and are motivated to contribute to the Faculty’s teaching and research profile at a national level.   To succeed in this role, you will also need: A PhD or Professional Doctorate in History, Human Society and Its Environment or a closely related Humanities discipline, together with an accredited Initial Teacher Education qualification Demonstrated excellence in tertiary teaching within Initial Teacher Education, including curriculum design and delivery using contemporary educational technologies across blended and online environments Strong knowledge of the Australian Curriculum, particularly Primary HSIE and History An established research and /or teaching scholarship profile appropriate to Level C, including publications and supervision of Honours and HDR students Proven leadership experience in teaching, research and professional practice, including mentoring colleagues and contributing to collaborative academic teams While not essential, experience or willingness to be involved in Professional Experience partnerships is desirable Why Southern Cross University SCU is proudly a regional university, young, small and vibrant.
