Salford University has appointed Jonathan Parke , formerly at Nottingham Trent University, as lecturer and senior researcher in the Centre for the Study of Gambling.

- David Bradshaw , former journalist with the BBC and The Economist, and head of journalism and communication at Bournemouth University, has been appointed head of media at Canterbury Christ Church University, succeeding Nick Burton.

- Tim Cobbett , formerly a policy adviser at Universities UK, is now academic registrar at Teesside University.

- The London School of Economics and Political Science has appointed Josef Ackermann , chief executive officer of Deutsche Bank, as a visiting professor in the department of finance.

- Priscilla Schwartz , barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Sierra Leone, has been appointed lecturer in the faculty of law at Leicester University.
