Clare Broom has taken up the post of pro vice-chancellor for planning and development at the University of Plymouth .

Geraldine van Bueren , professor of international human rights law at Queen Mary, University of London, will take up concurrently the W. P. Schreiner chair in the school of law at the University of Cape Town , South Africa.

UK e-universities Worldwide - the operating company of the e-university - has appointed three directors to its board: John Bull , vice-chancellor of Plymouth University; David Wallace , vice-chancellor of Loughborough University; and Sir Alan Wilson , vice-chancellor of the University of Leeds.

Steve Molyneux of the University of Wolverhampton has been appointed special adviser to the Advantage West Midlands regional development agency.

Nigel Piercy , formerly of the University of Cardiff, has been appointed professor of strategic marketing and director of Cranfield University 's strategic sales research consortium.

The University of Cambridge has appointed Kevin Roberts of Saatchi and Saatchi as chief executive of the Judge Institute of Management .

Diana Woodward , currently dean of the graduate school of Cheltenham and Gloucester College of Higher Education, has been appointed research director of Napier University .
