The University of Leeds is a redbrick university in the city of Leeds, West Yorkshire. Officially founded in the early 20th century, the university’s origins can be traced back to the 19th century, when the Yorkshire College of Science was established. It was one of the first colleges in the UK for students of all faiths and backgrounds, set up to challenge the exclusivity of Oxford and Cambridge. Initially the college focussed purely on scientific studies before eventually introducing Classics, History and Modern Literature. This led the Yorkshire College of Science to become the Yorkshire College and in 1904, King Edward VII granted Leeds its own Charter as an independent institution. Today, the University of Leeds is among the Russell Group of research-intensive universities.

It offers over 500 undergraduate and more than 200 postgraduate-degree courses. Leeds is split into nine faculties, they include: Arts, Social Sciences and Law, Engineering, Environment, Mathematics and Physical Sciences, Medicine and Health and Performance and Visual Arts. With over 30,000 students – 5,000 of them international, from more than 100 countries – the university prides itself on being a multicultural and international institution.Its partnership with Southwest Jiaotong University in Chengdu, China was the first overseas school to be set up by the University of Leeds and offers students a unique UK-Chinese engineering curriculum. The university is located on a single-site campus, just a short walk from Leeds’ vibrant city centre, with access to art galleries, museums, shopping and sports facilities, as well as green spaces. Leeds University Union offers over 250 clubs and societies and its students' union was the first in the UK to be awarded ‘excellent’ status by the National Union of Students (NUS) as part of its Quality Students' Unions accreditation scheme. A recent £520m has been invested into transforming its campus, which includes state-of-the-art sport and well-being facilities, a 25m eight lane swimming pool and the largest fitness suite of any UK university
Leeds alumni include the late historian Herbert Read, the singer-songwriter Corinne Bailey Rae, and the astronaut Piers Sellers.

As a University of Applied Learning, the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) works closely with industry in its research pursuits. This position is situated within the Centre for Immersification, dedicated to applied research in immersive technologies and bridging the gap between academia and industry. Research staff at the Centre have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets relevant to industry demands while working on innovative projects within the university. The research team is seeking a Research Fellow or Research Engineer with strong expertise in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and social science methodologies to lead the user research and policy development, as part of an interdisciplinary team investigating harmful user-generated content in virtual worlds as part of a national research initiative on Online Trust and Safety. The primary responsibility of this role is to develop safety guidelines such as content moderation principles for user generated content, and recommendations for pre-screening, real-time monitoring and reporting, and design experiments and interventions to investigate the effect of guidelines. The successful candidate will work with a diverse team of faculty members, engineers, and industry partners, including renown researchers at the College of Computing and Data Science (CCDS) at NTU. Technical skills, natural curiosity, versatility, and enthusiasm are highly desired traits that will enable success in this fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Manage the research project together with Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met. Design and execute surveys and interviews to collect data (including participant recruitment) to address the relevant research questions. Perform statistical analysis on survey/experimental data, and conduct thematic analysis on interview transcripts and open-ended survey responses. To lead and report research findings in a form of high-quality publications and present in international peer-reviewed conferences and journals. Design scenario-based experiments to test user responses to new reporting mechanisms Draft comprehensive security guidelines and reporting frameworks for virtual world users, regulators, and platform providers Validate these guidelines through consultations with expert panels and representative user groups to ensure cross-cultural relevance and clarity Carry out Risk Assessment, and ensure compliance with Work, Safety and Health Regulations. Coordinate procurement and liaison with vendors/suppliers. Work independently, as well as within a team, to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment. Job Requirements Have relevant competence in the areas of cybersecurity, human-computer interaction, communication, or psychology. Masters or Ph.D. in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science, Cyber Security, Computer/Electrical Engineering, Information Technology will be advantageous. Strong interest and passion in cybersecurity. Expert proficiency in mixed-methods research (Qualitative & Quantitative), experience with systematic literature reviews, survey design, semi-structured interviews, and experimental study design is required. Familiarity with statistical analysis software (such as SPSS, SAS, or R) and qualitative analysis packages Demonstrated abilities in managing research projects on the ground end-to-end, from defining research questions to publishing results. Able to grasp new technology concepts quickly, and combine contrarian, out-of-the-box thinking when performing security assessments. Experience with public policy-related research will be a plus factor, as well as experience in research with adolescents. This course is ideal for emerging artists who want to refine their practice, build industry connections, and prepare for postgraduate study or professional opportunities in the creative sector. Master of Fine Art (MFA)* The MFA is a two-year full-time research degree designed for graduates who seek to develop a higher level of specialised knowledge and further their professional expertise and advanced research within their studio practice. Candidates develop an individual research project supported by supervisors relevant to their areas of interest. Doctor of Fine Art (DFA) The three-year DFA degree is a practice-based professional doctorate that provides a platform for integrating professional expertise and scholarly enquiry within the visual arts. This unique offering provides an important alternative to conventional PhD research for practising professionals who are committed to the highest standards of professional practice, academic research and critical enquiry through fine art practice. *NAS is currently phasing out our existing Masters by coursework degree with plans to implement a revised MFA (Research) degree from 2027. The Position The Head of Sculpture is responsible for developing and leading Sculpture curriculum in the BFA course and collaborating with the Head of Postgraduate Studies to support Sculpture in postgraduate courses, including the BFA(Hons), MFA and DFA degrees. The Full-time Head of Sculpture works with the other Heads of Departments and Heads of Programs to deliver academic and research support to students.
