At City University: Elias Dinenis, formerly senior lecturer in the business school has been appointed professor of investment and risk managment; Len Bowers, reader in the St Bartholomew school of nursing and midwifery has been appointed professor of psychiatric nursing; Howard Tumber, head of the department of sociology, becomes professor of sociology; Eric Moody, head of the department of art policy and management has been appointed a professor; Peter Willetts, reader in the department of sociology, has been appointed professor of global politics; and Mary Watts, reader in the department of psychology, has been appointed professor of psychology in professional practice.
The University of Greenwich has created a number of new professors at the Natural Resources Institute at Medway. Barry Blake, head of natural resources, becomes professor of natural resources management; Raymond Coker, process quality research leader, becomes professor of food safety; Dick Cooter, head of the pest management department, becomes professor of applied entomology; Andrew Westby, head of the post harvest horticulture group, becomes professor of food technology; and Joe Riley, head of the Natural Resources Institute in Malvern, becomes professor of radar entomology. Anna Pollert, now principal research fellow at Warwick Business School's industrial relations research unit, joins as professor of employment relations.
