The technology behind medical robotics is set to be advanced though a new centre in London. The Hamlyn Centre for Robotic Surgery at Imperial College London will aim to develop advanced robotic technologies to transform conventional keyhole surgery and to create "microbots" with integrated sensing and imaging for cancer surgery and treatment. The centre received philanthropic support totalling £10 million from the Helen Hamlyn Trust and from Lady Hamlyn personally.
