Imperial College London, a science-based institution based in the centre of the capital, is regarded as one of the UK’s leading institutions.

The college has around 15,000 students and 8,000 staff, with a focus on four main areas: science, engineering, medicine and business.

The institution has its roots in the vision of Prince Albert to make London’s South Kensington a centre for education, with colleges going alongside the nearby Natural History Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum and Science Museum.

Imperial was granted its charter in 1907, merging the Royal College of Science, the Royal School of Mines and the City & Guilds College.

The institution boasts 14 Nobel Prize winners, including Sir Alexander Fleming, the discoverer of penicillin.

Famous alumni include science fiction author H.G. Wells, Queen guitarist Brian May, former prime minister of India Rajiv Gandhi, former UK chief medical officer Sir Liam Donaldson, and former chief executive of Singapore Airlines Chew Choon Seng.

The college’s motto is Scientia imperii decus et tutamen, which translates as “Scientific knowledge, the crowning glory and the safeguard of the empire”.

Imperial’s most notable landmark is the Queen's Tower, a remainder of the Imperial Institute, built to mark Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee in 1887.

Duties and Responsibilities The appointee will play a key role in a large-scale, mental health, and well-being project for primary schools in Hong Kong, under the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Social Sciences. The appointee will be responsible for the professional oversight and strategic implementation of the project, requiring specialised knowledge and independent professional judgement, with major tasks including: Devising and implementing a mindfulness-based social-emotional curriculum for primary school students, as well as the corresponding train-the-trainer curriculum for primary school educators Developing and implementing a mindfulness-based positive parenting programme for parents Providing consultation and ongoing professional support to educators and parents to promote students’ well-being Organising and delivering training sessions and workshops for educators, parents, and students Planning and implementing public education initiatives Preparing research reports and non-technical documents Performing any other duties as assigned Requirements The appointment (Investigator / Research Officer) will be offered based on the qualifications and experience of the applicant. Department: Social Sciences Institute Vacancy ID: 040603 Closing Date: 07-Apr-2026 We are seeking a highly experienced Network Co-Ordinator, to provide administrative support and strategic co-ordination for the newly established all-island 5-year Collaborative Research Network in Mental Health (called ‘CO-PRIME’). This post offers an exciting opportunity to work with a large, multidisciplinary, and cross-sectoral consortium working together, for the first time, to help support and promote mental health research across the island of Ireland through, for example, a wide range of activities involving collaboration, engagement and outreach, capacity building, co-production, and knowledge translation. The CO-PRIME Network is funded by the Health Research Board and is a key recommendation of the first ever National Mental Health Research Strategy for Ireland (2024). This role will provide a central point of coordination between the Leadership Team and all other members of the CO-PRIME team and wider consortium, ensuring strong alignment between strategy, delivery, and impact. The Network Leadership Team, of which the Network Co-Ordinator will be a member, comprises Professor Sinéad McGilloway, Principal Lead (Maynooth University), Dr Eve Griffin, Co-Lead (National Suicide Research Foundation), and Professor Brian McGuire, Co-Lead (University of Galway) working in collaboration with a Lead/Co-Lead representing a ‘Lived Experience Oversight Group’. The role will be located in the Maynooth University Social Sciences Institute. The principal role of the Network Co-Ordinator is to support the CO-PRIME Leadership Team and other team members to achieve the strategic aims and objectives of the Network. The successful candidate will work within a highly collaborative, inclusive and cross-sector environment straddling both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, and including a large and diverse consortium of stakeholders, encompassing people with lived experience, academics/researchers, practitioners, service providers, and policymakers. The appointee will assist with all aspects of the administration, operation, governance and management of the Network, including helping to develop policies and procedures for the new Network, coordinating day-to-day management activities, supporting public engagement and stakeholder communication, monitoring and reporting on key performance indicators, and helping to strengthen all-island (and international) partnerships. Salary: €59,812 p.a. pro rata 0.8FTE (1 point with increments) Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions. This project aims to identify key genes and enzymes involved in mitigating salinity stress and improving soil health and crop productivity. These positions are part of a broader initiative to develop biofertilizers and sustainable agricultural strategies to combat soil degradation and salinization. Research will involve state-of-the-art metaproteomics, bioinformatics, and functional microbiome studies conducted in field trials, greenhouse experiments, and laboratory settings. This role will focus on the interactions between rhizosphere microbiota and plant roots, investigating how microbial enzymes enhance plant stress tolerance under salinity conditions. The successful candidate will: Conduct metaproteomic and genomic sequencing of microbial communities associated with plant roots. Identify microbial enzymes and functional pathways involved in nutrient acquisition and stress adaptation. Analyze plant-microbe interactions in response to salinity stress. RESEARCH ASSISTANT (PSYCHOLOGY/ OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY) AT THE SINGAPORE INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY (SIT) SIT Health and Social Sciences (HSS) is seeking candidates for the position of a Research Assistant for the research study ‘Integrative Neuro-social cognitive Strategy Programme for Instilling REcovery (INSPIRE): a Community-Based Cognitive Remediation Trial”. This study attempts to investigate the effects of cognitive remediation on neurocognition, social cognition and functional outcomes of persons with schizophrenia/schizoaffective disorders in the community mental health setting. It will be conducted in five community-based psychiatric rehabilitation centres. The Research Assistant is expected to work closely with colleagues at the five psychiatric rehabilitation centres, conduct outcome measurements and carry out all administrative procedures in accordance with research governance policies. The Research Assistant will also need to be able to work independently. Applicants should possess: a. an earned Bachelor with Honours degree in Psychology or Occupational Therapy from a reputable university. b. experience in research work in the field of mental health, particularly in cognitive remediation.  c. skills in organising research dataset, with the ability to conduct basic statistical analyses. d. prior experience in administering cognitive assessments.
