Times Higher Education will run its first event dedicated to exploring how universities can embrace and respond to digital transformation next month.

The THE Digital Transformation Forum will take place in Russia in partnership with Kazan Federal University from 26 to 27 November.

The forum will examine how universities can adapt their teaching, research, science communications and campus environments with new technologies and keep pace with changes, or offer new directions, in the fourth industrial revolution.

Amy Lin, senior vice-president at Huawei, will explore how the integration of information technology in the higher education environment needs rethinking and redesigning; while Sajid Hussain, co-founder and general manager of Smart Citti UAE, and Sharan Singh, managing director of strategic partnerships at the Minerva Project, will discuss who should lead the digital transformation of universities and how such changes can be measured while protecting diversity.

Meanwhile, Christopher Monterola, head of the Asian Institute of Management, which won Technological Innovation of the Year in the 2019 THE Awards Asia, will present a case study of the winning project.

The event will also hear from Cedric Denis-Remis, vice-president of development at Paris Sciences et Lettres – PSL Research University Paris; Martin Blunt, chair in petroleum engineering at Imperial College London; Valeria Zabolotnaya, dean of Moscow’s Sberbank Corporate University; and Will Pearson, head of academic engagement at Connected Places Catapult.
