The Faculty of Dentistry is the only dental school in Hong Kong, China and the only one in China that uses English as the medium of instruction. They should also have: (i) proven evidence of quality research, publications in high quality international journals, and local and regional recognition for scholarship and professional expertise; (ii) demonstrated ability in undergraduate and postgraduate education, clinical practice and research; (iii) demonstrated participation in Faculty and University affairs; and (iv) demonstrated ability in knowledge exchange (KE) activities, and leadership in professional education programmes or community engagement. For appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor, applicants should possess a dental or medical Bachelor's degree or equivalent, and a Master of Dental Surgery degree or equivalent in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology. Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in biomedical engineering, biomedical sciences, bioengineering, materials science, or a related discipline, with experience in hydrogel biomaterials, cell culture, tissue engineering, or 3D bioprinting. The appointee should be organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as in a team. The appointee will be involved in hydrogel bio-ink development, cell-laden and multicellular 3D bioprinting, vascularized tissue-model construction, cell culture, and biological and mechanical characterization of engineered constructs. Experience in rheology, confocal microscopy, immunofluorescence staining, SEM, mechanical testing, and image analysis will be an advantage.
