Position Description and Selection Criteria: PD&PEWER_Academic AB_Postdoctoral_Research Fellow.pdf The Position The Postdoctoral Researcher (Level A) or Research Fellow (Level B) will undertake independent research in the area of nuclear reactions, particularly heavy-ion fusion and few- and multi-nucleon transfer, including assisting in the supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students. They will publish original and innovative results in refereed journals, present research at national and international conferences, and collaborate with other researchers at a national and international level. They will collaborate with senior staff to actively seek and secure external funding, and prepare and submit research proposals to external funding bodies as appropriate, and contribute to teaching activities of the Research School of Physics. The Person The ideal candidate will hold a PhD (or be near completion) in physics or a related field, with demonstrated research expertise in experimental nuclear physics. They will have a strong record of publications, ideally in nuclear reactions research, and experience in laboratory experimentation and multiparameter data analysis. The candidate will be capable of developing innovative research ideas, contributing to collaborative projects, and supporting funding applications. The School/Department The Research School of Physics is a leading centre of physics research and education in Australia.
