The main duties include: Leading and contributing to a targeted research project, topics including climate policy, economics and governance. Supporting the planning, organization, and execution of academic and public dissemination events, such as seminars, workshops, and conferences. Assisting in drafting high-quality academic papers, policy briefs, and project progress reports. Performing other research and administrative duties as assigned to support the Institute's objectives. Requirements A Ph.D. degree in Environmental Economics, Public Policy, Geographical Sciences or a highly related discipline. A minimum of one year of relevant post-doctoral or professional working experience in a related field. An excellent command of both written and spoken English. Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. A demonstrated ability to work efficiently under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight project deadlines. A strong capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a diverse academic and administrative team. A highly self-motivated, proactive, and responsible work ethic. Advantageous: Familiarity with the local funding system, alongside prior experience collaborating with schools or managing educational/environmental research projects. Preferred: Proficiency in analyzing complex quantitative research data using advanced statistical methods and software packages. Applicants should possess (i) a Ph.D. degree in pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, or allied sciences; (ii) work experience in the pharmaceutical industry or academia and (iii) at least 3 years’ teaching experience at undergraduate level. Preference will be given to those with experience in teaching medicinal chemistry, analytical chemistry, or pharmaceutical sciences. The appointee will deliver high-quality undergraduate teaching and assessments, including lectures and practical sessions. They will supervise research projects, mentor students, provide academic advising, contribute to curriculum development, and participate in knowledge transfer and collaborative research activities. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. Job Purpose:  The Research Engineer will support applied research and innovation in environmental sustainability, working with internal teams and industry partners to develop practical solutions. The role focuses on translating scientific concepts into scalable solutions that address challenges in meeting environmental sustainability target through resource efficiency, waste management, and other sustainable solutions for various industries. Research engineers will collaborate closely with faculty, professional officers and industry partners to execute commercially viable solutions that address real-world challenges. In the process, research engineers gain valuable applied research capabilities aligned with evolving industry needs. Key Responsibilities: Applied Research & Development Conduct reviews on sustainability literature, frameworks and assessment tools for both generic industry-wide and industry-specific applications, such as life cycle analysis (LCA), environmental impact assessments, energy analysis and resource optimization studies Develop sustainability solution road mapping and development framework to supports identification and follow-through of sustainability solutions for organizational green transition. Support development of sustainability solutions and applications to implement organizational green transition through project execution (experimentation, data collection, analysis and evaluation) including includes but not limited to carbon management, circular economy, renewable energy, and sustainable materials. Industry Collaboration Support collaborations with industry partners to understand problem statements and contribute to solution development Assist in project scoping by gathering technical inputs and identifying relevant capabilities within the ecosystem (IHLs, research centres, industry partners) Participate in industry meetings, discussions, and project engagements Project Execution & Support Assist in planning and executing projects to ensure timely delivery of outcomes Generate technical reports, presentations, and documentation on the development of sustainability solutions and applications Contribute to grant proposals and project submissions where required Track project progress and maintain proper documentation of activities Job Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree with 5+ year experience OR Master’s degree with 2+ year experience in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Engineering with sustainability training, or a related field or related disciplines with relevant experience in research, engineering, product development or sustainability related work. Possess understanding of sustainability concepts (e.g., LCA, carbon foot printing, resource efficiency) Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Resourceful, meticulous and problem-solving attitude.
