CQUniversity Australia have also been acknowledged by Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA 2015) as conducting research that is ‘well above world standard’ and ‘above world standard’ in the following areas: agricultural and veterinary sciences; applied mathematics; environmental sciences and management; mathematical sciences; medical and health sciences; mechanical engineering; nursing; other medical and health services; psychological and cognitive services.

We currently have more than 35 000 students spread across 24 campuses and locations Australia-wide. We operate campuses in Adelaide, Brisbane, Bundaberg, Cairns, Emerald, Gladstone, Mackay, Melbourne, Noosa, Perth, Rockhampton, Sydney and Townsville.  We are leading the way when it comes to providing access to university level education across the country also operating or supporting study centres in Broome, Busselton, Cooma, Geraldton and Karratha.

CQUniversity is also proud to have the highest ratio of students from low socio-economic, mature age, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, and first-in-family backgrounds. The university defines itself by who it embraces rather than who it excludes, and because of this is widely recognised as Australia’s most inclusive university.

CQUniversity students have some of the best graduate outcomes, with data released by Graduate Careers Australia indicating that CQUniversity has an overall full-time graduate employment rate almost 10 per cent higher than the national average of for Australian resident bachelor degree graduates. Data released by the Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (QILT) website also shows that CQUniversity out performs the majority of Australian universities when it comes to study support, graduate employment and graduate salary outcomes.

A University that knows engagement and social innovation

CQUniversity is changing the world for the better and through our social innovation agenda, our students, staff, academics, and communities are all driving this transformation.

We have embedding the principles of social innovation across our schools (faculties), and across our campuses and study centres and we have also developed a range of social innovation qualifications.  Working with government, industry, business and community we hope to empower students to solve real-life challenges locally and internationally.

The first and only Australian university to achieve membership, in 2017, CQUniversity took its social innovation agenda global, accepting the invitation to join Ashoka U, an exclusive international network of universities committed to social innovation, entrepreneurship and impact.

Vocational Courses

CQUniversity offers a range of vocational courses, including options in accounting and bookkeeping, aged Care, beauty, business, childcare, community services, disability, education support, hairdressing, HR, IT, justice, management, nursing, paramedic science, project management, retail, training and more. We are one of only a handful of universities in Australia who offer both vocational and degree level courses and the opportunities our structure offers students to obtain a combination of practical and theoretical skills across their studies.

Undergraduate Courses

Undergraduate courses are offered across a broad range of areas including: business, accounting and law; creative, performing and visual arts; education and humanities; engineering and built environment, health, IT and digital media; psychology; social work; science and environment; transport and safety sciences.

Our undergraduate courses are offered across our footprint, in most cases capitalising on the natural and economic features of the host region (engineering has close ties to the Queensland mining section and we offer tourism studies in Cairns for example).  Students are also able to access our exceptional online courses and platforms, and we teach more than half our students this way.

Postgraduate Courses

CQUniversity’s postgraduate study options reflect the undergraduate offerings in terms of disciplines and are popular with students who are looking to further their knowledge and improve their career prospects.  A great range of postgraduate study options are also available on our Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Perth campuses for international students.

Research Courses

CQUniversity offers a range of research higher degrees for students from academic, government or industry/practitioner backgrounds.  Course include Masters by Research, PhD, PhD for international students, PhD by portfolio, Doctor of Education and Doctor of Professional Studies.  We can help you turn your passion and interest into a research project that can make a difference.
