What is the new Sustainability Impact Ratings framework?

Times Higher Education is relaunching the Impact Rankings 2026 – the world’s most comprehensive framework for evaluating universities’ contributions to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) – as the Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026.

The methodology remains unchanged: the ratings continue to provide numerical scores for each institution across each of the SDGs it enters, and an overall rating based on a combination of a university’s strongest three SDGs and its SDG17 submission. What changes is the name and the introduction of a new membership network.
