The Psychology and Child & Human Development (PCHD) Department is dedicated to developing evidence-based competencies in psychologists, counsellors, educators, and education specialists. Our faculty has expertise spanning educational and school psychology, counselling psychology, teacher education, early childhood education, special and inclusive education, learning sciences, motivation, cognitive science, and mental health. We invite applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor in Counselling/Counselling Psychology. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching across undergraduate, graduate students and professional education programmes in the areas of counselling and counselling psychology. Requirements Applicants must have: A PhD or equivalent qualifications at the time of application in the areas of counselling and counselling psychology. Eligibility for registration or current registration with the Singapore Register of Psychologists and/or Singapore Association for Counselling. At least 4 years of an excellent teaching record, including innovative approaches and use of educational technology. Demonstrated ability and commitment to teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. The following will be advantageous: Experience supervising graduate students (master’s and/or doctoral level). A record of practice-based or applied research with publications in reputable international journals. Success in securing research funding as Principal Investigator. Leadership or administrative experience in academic settings. Familiarity with, or ability to adapt to, diverse education systems and cultural contexts. Willingness to contribute to interdisciplinary teaching and collaboration. In addition, Associate Professors must have a sustained, independent academic reputation, having published in high-impact venues and/or secured major research grants. Responsibilities The successful candidate will: Teach and develop courses at undergraduate, graduate, and professional development levels. Conduct research that informs educational practice and policy, particularly in teaching and learning. Build an active research programme and publish in reputable peer-reviewed journals. Establish collaborations with local and international academic and professional communities. Contribute to curriculum development, programme leadership, and institutional initiatives. Undertake administrative responsibilities and service within the department and institution. Share expertise through seminars, workshops, and collaborative platforms. Description The Center for Interdisciplinary Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (CIDSAI) at NYU Abu Dhabi seeks to recruit a Research Engineer to support the design and implementation of interactive AI and data science platforms across the Center’s research clusters. The successful candidate will collaborate with researchers and faculty across domains such as Foundations of Data Science, Enabling Technologies, Health, Education and Personalized Learning, and Bias, Ethics & Privacy, contributing to the development of prototypes, interfaces, and software infrastructure that translate research outputs into usable tools. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain web-based and AI-powered platforms supporting CIDSAI research projects. Collaborate with faculty and postdocs on projects such as: Mathematical Collaboration Platform, Personalized Learning Systems and SmartClass AI Tutors, Health-focused conversational AI and multimodal interfaces, Bias detection and fairness-aware tools for ethical AI. Integrate machine learning models, visualization dashboards, and backend services. Contribute to data collection, testing, documentation, and dissemination of open-source resources. Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Strong programming skills. Experience with machine learning frameworks and backend systems. Familiarity with cloud computing, API integration, data visualization, and database management. Ability to work in interdisciplinary research environments bridging theory, applications, and ethics. The appointment is for two years, with the possibility of renewal. Description The Applied Interactive Multimedia laboratory in the Division of Engineering, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a motivated research or postdoctoral associate to lead the design, development, and validation of material, control systems, and algorithms for next-generation soft haptic actuators and experiences. Note that the research involves significant interactions with collaborators in material science. The developed technologies will be utilized to develop digital twin and soft robot-assisted simulations in the areas of brain machine interaction, wearable haptics, and rehabilitation. The successful applicant will have the following technical experience in: PhD degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Material Engineering (or related field) OR 3-5 years of industry experience (Research and Development).
