CityU Macau is now inviting applications for Full Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in the following areas: Economics Financial Economics Job Description Successful candidates are expected to contribute significantly to the faculty program development, and will be responsible in duties including teaching, research, as well as supervision and coordination of student’s professional practice and dissertations. Job Requirements Holder of a Doctoral degree in related field from an accredited institution; Applicants currently in the final year of their PhD program will also be considered for the Assistant Professor position; Strong academic research ability and clear scientific research planning; Able to teach undergraduate or postgraduate course(s) independently; Successful experience in supervising undergraduate or postgraduate students; Priority considerations will be given to those having a good command of both spoken and written Chinese and English; Preference will be given to Macao residents under the same condition. Remuneration The remuneration and appointment rank offered will be competitive and commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualifications, current position and professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate in Macao is 12% but is effectively around 5% - 7% after various discretionary exemptions. Open Positions To cope with the development of the university the university is now recruitment Heads of Departments for the following 4 areas: Job ID: Ref001 Graduate Student Cultivation and Academic Success This position serves as a key role under the Vice Rector, overseeing the strategic development and daily operations of the graduate school. The successful candidate will be responsible for: Formulating and implementing policies for graduate thesis supervision, ensuring academic rigor and alignment with international standards. Managing the full lifecycle of graduate student cultivation, from admission (including bachelor-to-postgraduate pathways) to graduation, with a focus on student success and retention. Developing initiatives to improve graduate employability, such as industry partnerships and career development programs. Job ID: Ref002 Quality Assurance and Institutional Accreditation This position drives the university’s compliance with global quality standards and accreditation processes. Duties involve: Managing institutional accreditation (e.g., QAA,), program accreditation (e.g. AACSB) and program-level reviews, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements. Coordinating new program applications and existing program revisions. Developing internal QA frameworks and training staff for continuous improvement. Job ID: Ref003 Institutional Data and Global Rankings This role is pivotal in advancing the university’s global visibility through data-driven strategies. Key responsibilities include: Leading the collection, analysis, and reporting of institutional data for major rankings (QS, THE, ARWU, etc.), identifying performance gaps and proposing improvement plans. Establishing a centralized data governance framework to ensure accuracy and compliance with international standards. Leveraging data analytics and Maintaining up to date information of HEI to inform strategic decision-making Job ID: Ref004 Digital Transformation and Library Innovation This role focuses on leveraging technology to enhance academic and administrative services. Responsibilities include: Designing and implementing IT solutions for the library and academic departments (e.g., AI-driven tools, digital repositories). Data support Upgrading database systems to support interdisciplinary research and smart campus initiatives. Collaborating with faculty to integrate EdTech Requirement Master's degree in a relevant discipline is required; Doctoral degree strongly preferred Full fluency in English and Mandarin (written and spoken), Cantonese / Portuguese proficiency highly desirable Minimum 10 years experience with at least 5 years in higher education administration, experience in international or Sino-foreign cooperative universities preferred Understanding of Macao SAR higher education policies and Familiarity with Chinese Ministry of Education (MOE) regulations preferred.
