Uniting leaders from healthcare, academia, government, pharmaceuticals and technology, THE’s Digital Health Asia 2025 (DHA 2025) event provides an opportunity for numerous stakeholders to collaborate on new technologies for the betterment of healthcare.
The event, hosted by City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) and CityUHK’s Institute of Digital Medicine (IDM), in partnership with THE, provides an ideal opportunity for industry experts to come together to explore the transformative power of digital health. Held in Hong Kong, DHA 2025 represents the first time THE’s Digital Health series will be held in Asia.
Named the world’s most international university by THE in 2024 and 2025, CityUHK was an obvious choice to host DHA 2025, with the university dedicated to establishing global partnerships with other world-leading institutions to offer innovative solutions in digital medicine.
“CityUHK is a young and dynamic university,” explains CityUHK’s Michael Yang Mengsu, senior vice-president of Innovation and Enterprise at the university. “Last year, we established the Institute for Digital Medicine. Our vision is to combine the university's strengths in life sciences, engineering, data science, AI, business, law and social sciences. Together, we'll use this collective platform to address global challenges in healthcare.”
Recognising that today’s healthcare challenges can only be addressed by supporting industry innovations from all over the world, CityUHK has secured partnerships with many other universities, including Tsinghua University and the National University of Singapore. In addition, the IDM works closely with the Hospital Authority in Hong Kong and major healthcare providers in mainland China. These collaborations will generate the medical data needed for rigorous clinical validation, allowing research to eventually lead to real-world impact.
“We have an extensive academic network with leading universities worldwide,” Yang says. “We also collaborate with various hospitals and organisations, including some of the largest healthcare industry players like China Resources and JD Health.”
DHA 2025 will leverage CityUHK’s burgeoning academic and industry networks, as well as the IDM’s interdisciplinary capabilities, to accelerate advancements in digital healthcare. The event will focus on three primary themes: AI and health data; collaboration and commercialisation; and biotechnology and digital health.
Regarding AI and health data, the use of digital technologies to improve health outcomes in an ageing world will be an important focus area, but so too will be the ethical implications of using AI in real-world patient care. Although digitalisation will be at the forefront of DHA 2025, the human concerns at the centre of global healthcare will also be discussed.
“Our goal is to create practical solutions that will make a global impact on healthcare,” Yang says. “Join us at Digital Health Asia 2025 and be part of the future of health.”
