Robbie Taylor, chairman of Robert Taylor Holdings Ltd and of the Investors in People Scotland, board member of the Forth Valley Education Business Partnership and director of Clyde Shipping Ltd. has been appointed honorary professor within the new department of entrepreneurship.

University of Kent at Canterbury

Ian Christie, fellow of Magdalen College, professor of film studies; Ken Judge, director of the King's Fund Policy Institute, professor of social policy; Laurence Ray, senior lecturer at Lancaster University, professor of sociology. Richard Hyde, head of physical sciences at the Wellcome Institute and visiting professor at Sussex University, has been appointed part-time professor of medicinal chemistry.
