University of Edinburgh - Sharp image wins business prize

This year's Research Councils UK Business Plan Competition has been won by a project from the University of Edinburgh. Scientists from the university, led by Ben Panter, won the award for developing a complex algorithm to stabilise MRI images. Currently, one in ten MRI scans is useless because of distortion. The breakthrough is expected to save hospitals millions and improve patient care. The team collects £25,000 to put towards the development of its business.
