Scientists will help children to see a sample of their own DNA at a "science of life" family event organised by staff and students of the School of Biological Sciences at the University of East Anglia. Organiser Kay Yeoman said the emphasis of the free event would be on families having fun with science. "Children will get the chance to do experiments they may never be able to (do) at school," she said. Up to 1,000 people are expected to attend the event on 6 September.
