* Greenwich University has announced that Catherine Pettengell and Kate Anderson have joined the alumni and development team, part of the Development and Communications Office. Ms Pettengell comes from a background in insurance and corporate training to fill the new post of major donors officer; Ms Anderson previously held a development post at the London School of Economics and will fill the new post of trusts and corporate officer.
* The University of Central England has announced that Alan Staley has been awarded the title of professor of learning technology. He is head of the learning technology development unit at the university.
* Damien Yeates has been announced chief executive of the Scottish University for Industry. Mr Yeates is the chief executive of the Govan Initiative, a local economic development company that is responsible for regenerating the economy of the Greater Govan area of Glasgow.
* The University of Wales Institute Cardiff has appointed the following governors to the board: Gareth Davies , rugby player and former chair of the Sports Council for Wales; William Wilkins , director of William Wilkins Associates; Adrian Piper , agent for the Bank of England in Wales; Zoë Verna Harcombe , head of human resources at Dwr Cymru (Welsh Water); John Francis Clarke , former chief executive of the Welsh European Funding Office.
* Nottingham Trent University has appointed Ann Priest , dean at the London College of Fashion, dean of its art and design school from October 2006.
