Greenwich University is located in Karachi City, in the Sindh province of Pakistan, overlooking the Arabian sea. It is the first and only Pakistani private university to expand its campus globally, with a branch campus in Mauritius. The university celebrates its 32nd year, having been established in 1990, however its roots go back to 1987 with the formation of the Greenwich Institute.
There are two main faculties at the university: management sciences and social sciences. The department of business administration is a high-ranked business school in Pakistan, and offers degree programmes from an undergraduate to doctorate level including digital business management, and hospitality and tourism management. The other department in the management sciences faculty is economics and finance. The faculty of social sciences has three departments within it: humanities, education and mass communication and media studies, offering courses from undergraduate to a doctorate level in courses including English literature, education, and film studies.
Some of the university’s societies include arts and creativity club, entrepreneurs club, model united nations and athletics club. The university is fully-equipped with facilities to help students gain the necessary skills for when they graduate, from computer laboratories to the research and development centre and library book bank.
For students at Greenwich University, practical hands-on training is a core component of the programmes, with job training and industrial visits a key aspect of each course.
