Bangor/The Open University - Open relationship

Two universities have joined forces to offer a novel degree structure that allows students to mix distance and campus learning. Bangor University and The Open University have collaborated to offer the "2plus2" scheme for a BSc in chemistry. This gives students the opportunity to start the degree part-time with The Open University, then complete it through two years of full-time study at Bangor. Mike Beckett, acting head of Bangor's School of Chemistry, said it was one of only eight universities - and the first in Wales - to partner The Open University in this way.
