Helen Atkinson , a former reader at the University of Sheffield, has been made professor in metals processing at Leicester University's department of engineering.
Tim Lang has been appointed professor, Martin Carraher reader, and David Barling senior lecturer in the new department of health management and food policy at City University. All three move from Thames Valley University.
City University's Sir John Cass Business School has appointed its executive team: David Currie , chairman of Ofcom, will be dean; Henrietta Royle , former deputy chief executive of British Invisibles, will be chief operating officer; David Sims will be professor of organisational behaviour; Ajay Bhalla , formerly at the Stirling University, will be director of the management and systems course; Linda Wolstenholme will be associate dean for teaching and learning; and Clive Holtham has been made director of the Cass Learning Laboratory.
