This role presents an opportunity for a nationally recognised researcher and experienced academic leader to contribute to the continued growth and international reputation of RMIT's aerospace engineering programs. The successful candidate will play a key role in advancing research excellence, strengthening industry partnerships, mentoring emerging academics and HDR candidates, and contributing to the strategic development of the Department and School. The Associate Professor will contribute significantly to the teaching and research efforts of the Department of Aerospace Engineering and the School of Engineering. The incumbent will play an important role in leading high-quality research programs, developing collaborative research teams, and securing competitive external research funding while contributing to the delivery and development of aerospace engineering programs. The successful candidate will embed their research expertise within the life of the School and develop strong, productivity-driven research networks across RMIT and with local, national and global partners. To be successful in this position, you'll have: Demonstrated ability to direct an award program/s and implement program improvements and innovative approaches to student-centred learning and quality improvement programs. Nationally recognised research track record including substantial record of research outputs in high-quality outlets and emerging international recognition with a focus in one or more of the following areas: propulsion, aerodynamics, aerospace materials and structures, avionics, digital engineering for aerospace systems, and related applications including space vehicles and systems, crewed and uncrewed aircraft and their operations, and air-traffic control (crewed and uncrewed). The University of Helsinki Research Services’ Research Management Support unit is looking for four (4) Program Managers to strengthen the coordination of the Top research areas. The positions are fixed-term until 31 December 2030, with a starting date of 1 September 2026 or upon agreement. About the positions: The University of Helsinki’s four Top research areas – Future Technologies, Sustainable Planet, Learning and Evolving Societies, and Precision Health – bring together the university’s strengths and enhance the international visibility of its research. As a Program Manager, you will promote research activities within the Top research areas and coordinate collaboration. You will support the creation of new collaboration initiatives and facilitate applications for research funding. You will operate at the interface of research services and communications, where you contribute to the impact and visibility of the research conducted within the Top research areas. Each Top research area will have its own dedicated Program Manager. The Program Managers work closely with each other as well as with experts from other service units. The Program Manager position is on the requirement level 10, with a salary of around 4,500 euros per month. The role is carried out in a hybrid format, combining on-site and remote work.
