The Student and Academic Support teams provide essential support to students and academic course teams to ensure high quality delivery of the student experience. About the Role You will be the key point of contact for students, staff and external partners on specific courses for advice, guidance and help. Responsibilities will include the delivery of academic administration, student support, and ensuring high levels of customer service and student satisfaction. The postholder will be instrumental in ensuring that the student experience of administrative services on their portfolio of courses and programmes is effective, consistent and of a high standard. They will work very closely with academic staff (e.g. Course Directors and Module Leaders) to ensure that the student experience is effective, consistent and of a high standard. About You We are looking for an experienced, self-motivated administrator with a passion for high-quality customer service. You will be IT literate, including Microsoft packages and database applications. Ideally, you will have experience of academic administration, preferably within a Higher Education Institution, and of working with regulations. You will have a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. Proven analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills are a must. The University of Helsinki Research Services’ Research Management Support unit is looking for four (4) Program Managers to strengthen the coordination of the Top research areas. The positions are fixed-term until 31 December 2030, with a starting date of 1 September 2026 or upon agreement. About the positions: The University of Helsinki’s four Top research areas – Future Technologies, Sustainable Planet, Learning and Evolving Societies, and Precision Health – bring together the university’s strengths and enhance the international visibility of its research. As a Program Manager, you will promote research activities within the Top research areas and coordinate collaboration. You will support the creation of new collaboration initiatives and facilitate applications for research funding. You will operate at the interface of research services and communications, where you contribute to the impact and visibility of the research conducted within the Top research areas. Each Top research area will have its own dedicated Program Manager. The Program Managers work closely with each other as well as with experts from other service units. The Program Manager position is on the requirement level 10, with a salary of around 4,500 euros per month. The role is carried out in a hybrid format, combining on-site and remote work.  What do we expect from you: The role requires strong collaboration skills, experience in research collaboration and its facilitation and coordination, as well as experience in research funding landscape. Science and research communication and societal impact play a central role in the Program Manager’s work, so we expect skills and experience in these areas. We value initiative, administrative experience, and the ability to maintain oversight of multiple tasks. You communicate effectively and coordinate the organization of joint events smoothly. We expect applicants to hold a doctoral degree and to have understanding and experience of research activities.
