The Trades Engineering and Technology Electrical Department is seeking to appoint suitably qualified and experienced teachers to meet expected further growth in 2023 and beyond. Teaching will be for units from our current Electrical Training Packages UEE30820 and UEE22020. The requirement is to predominantly carry out teaching and assessment duties within these programs. The role of a Swinburne Vocational Education (VE) Teacher is to share their experience and knowledge with students and encourage our students to successfully obtain their qualifications. You will work within a passionate team of trade teachers who plan deliver, assess, evaluate and ensure compliance of high-quality education and training programs. There may also be opportunities to deliver Fee-for-Service training for candidates with the appropriate experience and expertise. About You You're a passionate educator and electrical industry professional who is committed to delivering exceptional learning experiences that prepare students for successful careers. You'll bring current industry expertise, embrace innovative teaching approaches and enjoy working collaboratively to continuously improve educational outcomes. To be successful, you'll demonstrate: The ability to design and deliver innovative, high-quality teaching and learning programs across a variety of delivery modes, using contemporary teaching practices and technologies. A commitment to creating inclusive, supportive and safe learning environments that cater to the diverse needs of students and clients. Experience developing and continuously improving teaching, learning and assessment resources that meet quality and compliance requirements. Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with colleagues, contribute ideas and support continuous improvement initiatives. A proactive approach to your own professional development, maintaining contemporary VET practice and current knowledge of the electrical industry. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with a genuine commitment to student success, mentoring and delivering an outstanding student experience. Confidence using digital technologies, including Microsoft Office applications, email and Learning Management Systems. Current practical industry experience within the electrical sector that enables you to bring real-world knowledge into the classroom. Advance the Future of Epilepsy Care Through Multimodal Brain Imaging Full-time, fixed-term (3.5 years) position at our Hawthorn campus Scholarship stipend of $42,440 per annum Are you passionate about epilepsy research, neuroimaging, and developing innovative data analysis pipelines? This exciting PhD scholarship offers the opportunity to work on world-leading research aimed at improving outcomes for people living with drug-resistant epilepsy. Based within Swinburne University's Centre for Mental Health and Brain Sciences, this full-time PhD scholarship is linked to a successful NHMRC Ideas Grant focused on advancing epilepsy surgery eligibility and outcomes through multimodal non-invasive neuroimaging. About the Project Accurately identifying the brain regions responsible for epileptic seizures remains one of the greatest challenges in determining whether a patient is a suitable candidate for epilepsy surgery. As a PhD candidate, you will join a multidisciplinary team investigating how advanced neuroimaging technologies can be integrated to improve the localisation of epileptogenic brain regions. You will receive training in a range of state-of-the-art imaging modalities, including: Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) High-Density Electroencephalography (HDEEG) Magnetoencephalography (MEG) Structural Magnetic Resonance Imaging (sMRI) A key focus of the project will be the development of integrated acquisition, processing and analysis pipelines that combine information from multiple imaging techniques to generate more accurate and clinically useful assessments for epilepsy surgery planning. Ultimately, your research will contribute to refining non-invasive localisation techniques, improving the identification of suitable epilepsy surgery candidates, and helping to enhance surgical success rates for patients living with drug-resistant epilepsy.
