Swinburne University of Technology

Swinburne University of Technology is a world-class university creating social and economic impact through science, technology and innovation and is now recognised as one of the world’s best universities under 50 years old.
With a reputation for quality education and cutting-edge research, we believe in bringing people and technology together for a better world.
Swinburne attracts academics who are making a real-world impact through their research and teachers who bring their expert knowledge and industry experience into the classroom.
Swinburne’s range of courses across 17 subject areas provide qualifications at an undergraduate and postgraduate level. As a dual-sector institution, we also offer vocational education, as well as shorter courses for professional development. All our educational offerings have been developed in consultation with industry to prepare graduates for a fast-moving, tech-rich future.
Swinburne is also focused on delivering research that creates economic and social impact. We aim to be the most industry engaged university in Australia, fostering close ties with industry, business and governmental organisations to ensure that our research produces innovative solutions to real-world problems.
Swinburne has been partnering with leading Australian and global organisations for decades to offer students authentic workplace experiences through Work Integrated Learning. All undergraduate learners receive real industry experience at Swinburne, through placements, internships or industry-linked projects, ensuring they graduate with the skills and experience to succeed in today’s competitive labour market.
Swinburne is spread over three campuses in Melbourne and one in Sarawak, Malaysia. Swinburne’s main campus in Hawthorn boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including the multi-million-dollar Advanced Manufacturing and Design Centre and Advanced Technologies Centre, Smart Structures Laboratory, Neuroimaging Facility and OzSTAR and Ngarru Tindebeek supercomputers.
Importantly, we know our differences are what make us stronger — like smaller class sizes, a caring and vibrant community, and an environment where students, teachers, researchers and industry can come together to make an impact.
