Your opportunity Southern Cross University’s Faculty of Health is seeking a passionate Senior Lecturer in Midwifery to lead excellence in teaching, research and academic coordination across our midwifery program. In this role, you will deliver high-quality, student-centred education aligned with the Southern Cross Model, while providing strategic direction and coordination for the program contributing to curriculum innovation across the discipline. You will make an impact by: Providing high-quality, engaging teaching in Midwifery across blended, online and face-to-face modes Leading course coordination and unit assessor responsibilities, ensuring smooth, high-quality program delivery Play a key role in the curriculum redesign and ANMAC reaccreditation Contributing to research through publications, grant activity and mentoring early-career researchers Building strong relationships with clinical partners, industry bodies and community organisations to enhance learning pathways and student outcomes What you will bring You’re an experienced midwifery academic who is passionate about shaping the future of maternity care through evidence-based teaching, meaningful research and high-quality student experiences. You thrive on leading a team, creating engaging, student-centred learning environments and enjoy collaborating with colleagues, clinical partners and community organisations to deliver programs that genuinely make a difference. To succeed in this role, you will also need: A PhD and significant professional midwifery experience, together with current AHPRA registration as a Midwife Demonstrated excellence in teaching Midwifery in a university setting and success in the use of contemporary educational technologies in blended and online environments Demonstrated experience leading and undertaking design, implementation and evaluation of curriculum and resources that support and enhance the effectiveness of student learning Demonstrated experience in team leadership, a track record of effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, and excellent interpersonal skills An established research profile including where possible publications in highly ranked journals, and supervision of honours/higher degree research candidates Why Southern Cross University SCU is proudly a regional university, young, small and vibrant. Relocation assistance is available, making it easier to join our regional communities ACAD Level C. The base salary ranges from $139,568 - $160,473 per annum, plus 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $187,753.
