Working under the broad direction of the Software and Data Modernisation Manager, the Specialist is responsible for deploying and optimising scientific software stacks, integrating tools and services into NCI’s computational ecosystem, and supporting users with expert advice on HPC, data science, and AI/ML workflows. The position also leads the development of documentation, training materials, and community engagement activities to ensure users can access, understand, and leverage NCI’s capabilities. The role requires strong technical expertise in scientific computing, HPC environments, Linux-based workflows, and modern AI/ML technologies. It also demands excellent communication skills, a proactive service mindset, and the ability to collaborate across teams and with external stakeholders. It pays particular attention to how these arguments have often relied on appeals to certain understandings of theology, race, gender, climate, and disease.
