World University Rankings 2020 by subject: education

The 2020 Times Higher Education World University Rankings table for education subjects uses the same trusted and rigorous performance indicators as our overall World University Rankings, but the weightings have been recalibrated to suit the individual fields.

The ranking assesses universities by their performance in education, teacher training and academic studies in education subjects.

This year’s table includes 477 universities, up from 428 last year.

Once again, Stanford University and Harvard University place in the top two. The University of Hong Kong rises one place to third, while the University of Oxford climbs one place to fourth. The University of California, Berkeley drops two positions to fifth.

China’s Peking University makes strong progress, rising 13 places to 13th, while New York University rises nine places to 21st.
