World University Rankings 2020 by subject: business and economics

The 2020 Times Higher Education World University Rankings table for business and economics subjects uses the same trusted and rigorous performance indicators as our overall World University Rankings, but the weightings have been recalibrated to suit the individual fields.

The ranking assesses universities by their performance in accounting and finance, business and management, and economics and econometrics subjects.

This year’s table includes 632 universities, up from 585 last year.

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stanford University, University of Oxford and University of Cambridge once again take the top four places in the table. The only change from last year’s top five is the University of California, Berkeley ranks in fifth place, up from sixth, displacing Duke University, which is now ranked seventh,

Three Asian institutions sit in the top 20, led by the National University of Singapore at 14th place (up from 17th). Meanwhile, Switzerland’s ETH Zurich rises eight places to joint 12th.
