In last week's feature on university access, "Reaching out but still falling short", the University of Northampton was incorrectly named as an institution that the Office for Fair Access said it had written to because it was not being sufficiently proactive in promoting bursary take-up by students. This was due to an error in the information supplied to Times Higher Education by Offa, which has now confirmed that it has no issue with Northampton on its student bursary take-up and that therefore the institution should not have appeared on this list.

In a news item last week, we reported on a petition against plans by the University of Exeter to outsource its nursery to a private company. The petitioners were quoted as claiming that another outsourced nursery, at the University of Essex, was judged by Ofsted to be "far weaker". Essex has pointed out that the most recent Ofsted inspection of its nursery was at least as positive as that of Exeter's nursery.
