Birmingham City University: Students mock rebranding

Hundreds of students have joined forces online to mock a university's new name. The group on social networking site Facebook is titled: "We hate the name Birmingham City University." The institution changed its name from the University of Central England to Birmingham City University in October. But this has not been well received by the 638 group members. They say: "BCU is crap and UCE is far better, why change the bloody name?" The protests come as a neighbouring institution, the Birmingham College of Food and Tourism, confirmed this week that it had renamed itself University College Birmingham.
