Moving to a different country is a big step and can be quite challenging. Tilburg University offers dedicated services for international students, before, during, and after their studies. Student Life

The City of Tilburg: a student city.

Tilburg is the seventh largest city in the Netherlands and has a small but very vibrant city center with plenty of pubs and restaurants. The city offers excellent opportunities for culture, sports and relaxation.

Tilburg has a theatre, a concert hall, 4 movie theatres, various stages for amateur art and drama, leading museums and nationally known festivals like Festival Mundial. 

The economic environment in the southern part of the Netherlands is innovative and fast-growing. This offers opportunities for internships at international companies located in and around Tilburg. 

In addition, the city of Tilburg is conveniently located with just a short train ride to cities like Amsterdam, The Hague, Rotterdam, and has easy access to European capitals like Brussels, Paris, and London.

We provide facilities to ‘dual career’ students who want to combine academics with a career in sports. For example, those who have a training schedule and are preparing their participation in World Championships or the Olympics.

Admissions Procedure

Applying for our programs is free, and can easily be done online. Tilburg University has a rolling admissions process: your application will be assessed as it comes in, and you will know whether you are (conditionally) accepted within a few weeks.

Our application requirements consist of diploma requirements and English language proficiency requirements. In addition, we want to know more about you to determine whether a certain program is the right fit for you. Therefore, we may require you to write a motivation letter and/or submit a CV or an essay.

The King’s Motor Neuron Disease Care and Research Centre, in the Department of Basic and Clinical Neuroscience is an international multi-award-winning centre for clinical care and research into motor neuron diseases, focussing on understanding the condition, developing new treatments and testing the treatments in clinical trials. It is a key part of the UK Motor Neuron Disease Research Institute, a government and charity funded network of internationally and nationally recognised centres of excellence for motor neuron disease. About the role The role is to provide clinical research and clinical trials support to our portfolio of MND research studies. Deputy Head of Admissions (1 FTE) Full Time, Permanent Salary: £44,421 - £50,927 per annum Location: Bournemouth Campus Health Sciences University is a specialist health sciences institution dedicated to creating a healthier society through education, research and clinical care. Operating across two campuses in Bournemouth and central London, the university is experiencing an exciting period of growth and diversification. The launch of our Health Business School and its flagship MSc Global Healthcare Management course in 2025 is helping to shape responsible, sustainable management and leadership within the global healthcare sector and is attracting growing numbers of students from new international markets. We are continuously developing our services and course portfolio in response to the evolving needs of employers, students and society at a local, regional and global level, with several exciting new directions in development. About the role The Deputy Head of Admissions is a senior role responsible for shaping and delivering a high-performing, compliant and applicant-focused admissions service. Working closely with the Head of Student Recruitment, Outreach and Admissions, you will lead admissions activity across both campuses, providing visible leadership at Bournemouth, line-managing the London Admissions Manager, and ensuring consistent, high-quality processes that support the university’s growth. You will have autonomy to manage complex admissions decisions, oversee compliance and risk, contribute to institutional planning through evidence-based insights, and represent Admissions in senior management forums. The role is varied and influential, with flexibility required during peak periods and occasional travel. This role is based at our Bournemouth campus, but hybrid working will be considered for the right candidate. About the person You will be an experienced and confident admissions professional with strong strategic insight, excellent judgement and a thorough understanding of regulatory requirements, including OfS, CMA and UKVI. A supportive and collaborative leader, you can guide and develop teams across multiple sites while maintaining a hands-on, approachable style. You will be comfortable making complex decisions, managing risk, and providing expert advice to colleagues at all levels. Flexible, proactive and forward-looking, you bring the resilience, communication skills and analytical mindset needed to drive continuous improvement and deliver an outstanding applicant experience.
