With a focus on student-centred learning and contemporary curriculum design, the Faculty delivers high-quality Initial Teacher Education programs across multiple disciplines and modes. We are seeking a Senior Lecturer in Education (HSIE and Humanities) to play a key leadership role in a growing curriculum area. This is a dual -focused position requiring expertise in Human Society and Its Environment (HSIE) and History, alongside strong experience in primary Initial Teacher Education. The successful candidate will contribute primarily to the Bachelor of Education (Primary) while also supporting related Humanities offerings within the Faculty as part of the Bachelor of Arts double degree. This role offers the opportunity to shape curriculum, mentor colleagues, work collaboratively within an enthusiastic and expanding team, and make a meaningful contribution to teaching and scholarship in primary HSIE education at a national level. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced academic to provide course-level leadership, teach across the program, and guide curriculum renewal in preparation for future accreditation. The Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Veterinary Infectious Diseases supports the Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (BVetMed, commencing 2026) and the Bachelor of Veterinary Technology (BVetTech, commenced 2025), programs designed to produce confident graduates ready to contribute to veterinary practice from Day One. This role would suit a specialist or experienced practitioner seeking to influence veterinary education while maintaining strong links to clinical or diagnostic practice. To succeed in this role, you will also need: A degree in veterinary science/medicine, preferably eligible for registration in NSW, and advanced qualifications in Veterinary Microbiology or Infectious Diseases (e.g. PhD, Diplomate ACVM/ECVM, Membership/Fellowship ANZCVS), or equivalent professional standing and experience. We are seeking a Lecturer in Education, Design and Technology, to contribute to teaching, curriculum development and scholarship within a growing and forward-thinking learning area.  This role supports the preparation of future teachers to deliver foundational knowledge of designing and making, with a strong emphasis on design thinking, material practices and contemporary technology education.  You will make an impact by: Delivering high-quality, student-centred teaching in Design and Technology across multiple delivery modes Teaching core ITE units in areas such as design thinking, design processes, and material practices Leading and contributing to curriculum design aligned with the Australian Curriculum and accreditation standards Engaging in reflective practice and contributing to the scholarship of teaching and learning Working collaboratively with colleagues to support continuous improvement across programs What you will bring You’re a motivated and collegial academic with a growth mindset and a passion for Design and Technology education as a force for positive social, environmental and educational change.   To succeed in this role, you will also need: A PhD or Professional Doctorate in Design and Technology Education or a related discipline, plus an Initial Teacher Education qualification Strong knowledge of Design and Technology education in Australia, including the Australian Curriculum Demonstrated teaching experience in university or school contexts using contemporary learning technologies Expertise or strong interest in design thinking, design communication and material practices An emerging or established research and/or teaching scholarship profile While not essential, we’d love it if you had a background in Home Economics, Industrial Arts, Technologies or related professional practice; experience integrating sustainability, ethical or environmental consideration into design education; and experience with Professional Experience, accreditation or placement-based learning Why Southern Cross University SCU is proudly a regional university, young, small and vibrant. The base salary ranges from $114,482 - $135,392 per annum, plus 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $158,408.
