Naresh Pandit is leaving Manchester Business School after ten years to become professor of management at the University of East Anglia.
He is keen to research the link between business clustering and economic growth. His work will focus on financial services in the City of London as well as broadcasting in and around Bristol and Soho.
Professor Pandit has previously received research funding from the British Academy, the Corporation of London and the European Union.
He said of his post: "The school has an ambitious growth strategy and the School of Management is growing fast."
Professor Pandit teaches international business, economics and strategy and has worked as a consultant for companies including Asda/Wal-Mart, Barclays Bank and Cambridge Econometrics.
