Helen Whitehead, a cyberspace writer in residence at Nottingham Trent University, has won funding for a project aimed at bringing together East Midlands textile workers and textile museum staff to encourage imaginative links between computer crafts and textiles.

"Web, warp and weft" stems from the university's trAce online writing community that aims to encourage creative writing - by moving it from its traditional domain into a more unpredictable area.

As part of an initiative called Year of the Artist, Helen's project is one of 76 residencies in the East Midlands to have been granted an award.
