The University of York is consulting on whether it should build two wind turbines as part of the new extension to its main campus. Elizabeth Heaps, the university's pro vice-chancellor for estates, said: "Wind turbines could bring considerable benefits in helping us to meet our stringent renewable energy targets for the whole campus, but we need to be sure this is an appropriate solution." The university is working with the Carbon Trust's Partnerships for Renewables programme on the study.
