University of Wales Institute Cardiff - Looking to the east

九月 4, 2008

A campus in Singapore is to be established by the University of Wales Institute Cardiff. The UWIC Asia campus is being set up in conjunction with the East Asia Institute of Management (EASB). It will offer undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in business and management as well as electives in casino and event management. Antony Chapman, UWIC's vice-chancellor, said he projected that over five years there would be about 1,200 undergraduates at the campus. EASB, which already offers UWIC courses to about 700 students, is funding the entire campus infrastructure. UWIC will have responsibility for both quality assurance and curriculum design. Teaching will be entirely in English, and the first students will be accepted in early 2009. In April 2008, Queen Margaret University became the first UK university to set up a Singapore campus - also in conjunction with EASB - with a focus on hospitality and tourism.
