The Student Integrity team administers policies and legislation in relation to appeals, academic integrity, and student conduct, managing complex and sensitive student matters, including conduct involving allegations of gender-based violence. The Deputy Manager, Student Conduct and Appeals, supports the operational delivery of services across these areas, working closely with the Manager to ensure effective, consistent, and trauma-informed processes. Our ideal candidate We are seeking a team leader with a demonstrated background in governance, compliance, and complex case management within a higher education or similar regulatory environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate: experience in policy, legal compliance, investigations, complaint-handling and appeals management. Strong organisational and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and apply complex legislation and policy frameworks in day-to-day operations and casework. Proven ability to lead and develop teams, fostering a culture of service excellence, accountability and continuous improvement. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders and support the resolution of sensitive matters. A commitment to equity, inclusion, and trauma-informed practices when managing (mis)conduct and complex behavioural issues. Experience in case handling of gender-based violence matters, including contributing to risk assessment, management and ongoing monitoring. A sound understanding of the impacts of vicarious trauma, with a proactive approach to supporting staff wellbeing through regular engagement and early intervention.
