University of Teesside - Obesity project makes recruits

A "get a better life" research project led by the University of Teesside's Centre for Food, Physical Activity and Obesity has attracted more than 900 local volunteers. Participants make pledges both to eat less fat and to take more exercise with the aim of discovering whether a "community challenge" project can help people living in one of the UK's obesity capitals to improve their health. The £500,000 project is funded by the Food Standards Agency.
