四月 24, 2008

Andrew Hamnett, principal of the University of Strathclyde, has announced his retirement. Professor Hamnett, 60, has been in post for eight years, a period in which Strathclyde's income has increased by 38 per cent. It has among the highest entry standards in the UK but is above its benchmark for recruiting students from underprivileged backgrounds. Professor Hamnett intends to leave by July 2009. The search for his successor will begin next month with an announcement expected by the end of the year.
