University of Strathclyde - For auld lang syne

Previously forgotten interviews with Glaswegians about their lives in the early 20th century will bring the past to life at Scottish museums. Arthur McIvor, director of the Scottish Oral History Centre at the University of Strathclyde, is working with Glasgow's museums to make use of the institution's collection of oral history tapes. Audio recordings of discussions with Glaswegians will be digitised and catalogued, and used as a resource for academics and school pupils. The project will also look at making the collection available online.
